FATAL REACTION: SINGAPORE

The Senior Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew said in 1987 "When the statistics show that more than 40% of each year's graduate women will never get married because graduate men cannot shake off their cultural conditioning, then something must be done".

From 1987 the Singapore government has been organizing subsidized holidays and cruises where the college-educated can mix and mingle. The filmmaker, Marijke Jongbloed, stepped on board of such a cruise to nowhere.

The film shows what the effect is of a seminar called 'How to find love and How to keep love', on two women, Karleen and Belinda and one man, Jacob.
